In this sense, and from the approach of education for global citizenship, it is essential to disseminate the contents, methodologies, and values ​​to strengthen the role of teachers as agents of change and facilitate that students can acquire the skills to develop a critical analysis of reality in which we live, aware of the connection that exists between local and global reality and in the commitment to respect and value diversity, defense of the environment, responsible consumption, respect for individual human rights and social.

In this framework and on the basis of the Donut theory, more than 16,500 students from Spain, Portugal, Italy, Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Malta, Morocco, Mexico, Peru have participated in the international project  Connecting worlds "Get in the loop: a future in balance"

In this edition, activities based on the donut theory have been promoted and aimed at critically rethinking the concept of growth and development based on the principles of environmental sustainability and social justice, making known and providing the tools to analyze the causes. and consequences that the current production and consumption model has on the lives of people and the planet at a local and global level. Finally, based on the principles of the donut theory, the participating students have developed proposals to achieve a fairer and more sustainable social and economic development that they have subsequently shared on the online platform. 

This year, due to the restrictions related to the health emergency, it has not been possible to hold the face-to-face territorial meetings that in other years have represented the final activity of the project and a very enriching moment to share and continue delving into the topics worked in the classroom in a shared and collaborative way. 

In addition, many of the groups that have participated in the Connecting Worlds, on the occasion of Earth Day, have shared on social networks the trees of life that they have made from their homes and have joined the global action for the climate convened by Fridays for Future, 2020 Climate Rebellion and Climate Alliance organized two days later, on April 24.
