Mesa Verde Camp & Mancos Valley (9/30/2016)We arrived at Mesa Verde National Park Camping area after passing through Cortez Co. and partly through the Mancos Valley. Then we had to climb up a twisting switch back road gaining 1700 feet in altitude to reach the campground head quarters. Then we had to climb another 300 feet to 8200 feet at our camp site. You have never breathed in air so fresh or tried to walk or work at this altitude, wow! The wild life pretty much ignored us. The stars were fantastic too! |

One has to get tour tickets at the Parks main head Quarts for a nominal fee. Some were closed however one of the main ones open was the Wetherill Mesa - Long House. These are the pictures from our tour. |

International Balloon Fiesta (10/6/2016)After we left the Cortez, Mesa Verde area we traveled to Albuquerque for the International Balloon Fiesta held annually. This was our first time going, we had no idea what to expect. We were overwhelmed by the experience and soon became enthralled with the event. I took over 700 pictures of just the balloons over our 4.5 days at the Fiesta. Here I've tried to scale that down to 100 that I think are worth seeing. So be for warned to spend a lot of time in the album if you see it all the way through. |
