Humminbird (March 3, 2008)(March 2008)
This album is available to the public to view. All I ask in return is that you sign the guestbook and let me know how you ended up here...
This is basically a ongoing tutorial explaining my experience/learning curve with Humminbird Side imaging technology, starting with my initial purchase of a 997 in 2008. I have since moved to 1100 series units, with a trolling motor application for Side Imaging also, starting with pictures 110-118 on how to rig the transducer to the Terrova. 2015: I now run and Onix 10 at the console so you will see some different screen options, and recently upgrade my bow unit to a H12 SI.
While 2-3 mph may be optimum viewing speed, you can see fish at .01 and as high as 10 mph in Side Imaging.I try experiment and learn something new every trip out with my equipment. If you are ever going to get good with your equipment, you need to use it.
The key to getting good results, is to take the time to properly set up your transducer in the beginning. This will pay dividends down the road.. You cannot expect high performance out of your unit, if your transducer installation is not up to speed.

Delores House (July 1, 2005)Please sign the guestbook!
This is a photo album with many different building science approaches integrated into this home. You will see how to dig a foundation so water is being managed from day one. You will also see footing drains, water EDITmanagement systems, capillary moisture breaks, energy efficient details, air tight drywall details , vented rainscreens, proper roof to wall connections etc and hopefully some explanations of why things are done the way they are. Please sign the guestbook, and explain how you found the album.EDIT 12/23. Delores house was repainted for the first time after 19 years. |

1800s home (November 20, 2006)Here are some pictures of two homes built on the prairie in South Dakota, probably late 1800s, or very early 1900s
They are half a mile apart, and were probably built by the same home builder, who was a master craftsman in my opinion. Some of the details are very forward thinking and quite ornate.
WHEN WE BUILD, LET US THINK THAT WE BUILD FOREVER. LET IT NOT BE FOR PRESENT USE ALONE. LET IT BE SUCH WORK AS OUR DECENDENTS WILL THANK US FOR. AND LET US THINK,AS WE LAY STONE ON STONE, THAT A TIME IS TO COME WHEN THOSE STONES WILL BE HELD SACRED BECAUSE OUR HANDS HAVE TOUCHED THEM, AND THAT PEOPLE WILL SAY, AS THEY LOOK UPON THE LABOR AND WROUGHT SUBSTANCE OF THEM, "SEE! THIS OUR PARENTS DID FOR US"
