Site prep 18-20" below TOF
6 Mil poly added prior to foam insulation. This may be contrary to current techniques, but the open time of this slab was ony 2 days, from prep to finish.
2 inch, 2Lb density EPS foam installed to outside of perimeter of building. Distance of protection outside of building line is climate specific. In this case, only about 14" was needed, but we went 24 because it was easier than ripping the foam. Unheated garage extends 42 inches past the garage wall perimeter.
More 2" 2 lb foam
Adding fill to hold down the edges (outside building line) The wind was tough on this site.
Starting to form, Driving the stakes thru the foam, in line with building perimeter.
Top row of forms,

Edge foam with "special" rip on edge to hold foam on concrete, without fasteners.
Ready for filling.
Adding compacted fill.
Filled and braced. Note: Garage does not have thermal edge protection.
Ready to dig the thickened edge and reinforce.
Hand dig out perimeter for thickened edge , and add reinforcing steel.

Ready to pour.
Corner reinforcing.( not necesary, but we had extra steel, and it seemed like a good idea.)
Concrete poured, anchor bolts installed and forms stripped
Ready for backfilling. Total elapsed time from breaking ground, 3 days (long)
