1 The best part of the TV show, "Overhaulin'" was when Chip Foose would sketch how the victim's car would turn out. Everyday on the way to work, I'd see this old heap parked outside a body shop, and I always dreamed about how I'd customize it, if I had my way. So, one day, I hopped off the bus and took some photos of it.
| 2 I thought it was a'39 Buick because it has rear suicide doors. When I looked at photo archives, I discovered that I was mistaken. I don't know what it is.
| 3 There were no markings or registration stickers that I could look at to tell me what this car is.
| 4 I like the suicide doors and the lines. I HATE the color and the soft insert in the roof. I'm also not a fan of the wide, whitewall tires. So when I draw how I'd convert it, I can change all of that.
| 5 Usually,I just draw things by eye. Occasionally I'll use a circle guide or a straight edge, but this is the first time since I was in college that I used things like that extensively.
| 6 O.K, my custom touches would be, 1) a top chop, 2) filling in the soft roof, 3) sectioning the hood, 4) leaning back the grille, 5) sinking the headlight buckets into the fenders, 6) shaving off the door hinges and handles, 7) lowering the stance. Not pictured yet, I'd like to change the rear lights, add some contemporary sideview mirrors, possibly make nerf bar bumpers, and a custom chrome grille.
