I always wanted to do an album cover. This is what I would have done if I had the chance...

1 When I worked in radio, I always wanted to design an album cover. This is an attempt at one. I started it in 2001 because a girl I really liked was a BIG Megadeth fan. She later told me she was seeing somebody, so I put the cover aside and never got around to finishing it.	2 Jump ahead to 2005, I finally unearthed it and decide to finish what I started. The lettering I had done first, and the outline of the face was started, so I began filling in the details.	3 here I sketch in the skull with white chalk.	4 Now I mask off the section.	5 Here it's ready for the background color
6 I do the upper half of the skull first.	7 I added the teeth and remove the mask, but I'm not happy with the look.	8 Here I've made the jaw fit the shape of the chin better	9 Now I put in the vertebrae	10 I put a T-shirt on and start the hair
11 I use transparent black for the locks, not wanting to make it muddy looking	12 It's important to keep the airbrush moving, so the hairs don't end up too thick. All those dagger stroke exercises pay off here.	13 I try to put the hairs close together where it's dark, and space them out for highlights	14 Patience pays off while doing this step	15 I switch to brown now and the hair starts to come alive
16 Now I add the title of the imaginary album. I think it's fitting to the artwork.	17 Here's a close up of the final work	18 I put in my signature and call it finished
