1 I often build speaker boxes, and making precise mounting holes is important to me. I bought a relatively inexpensive set of calipers to aid in the measuring process.I don't recall how much I spent at Harbor Freight Tools, but the price stickers were all over the tool. I peeled them off but a sticky residue was left behind. Not wanting to remove the digits, I tried using isopropyl alcohol. That yielded no visible results. I didn't want to use steel wool or sandpaper, so I tried Goo Gone.

I don't know why they can't pack this in a plastic wrapper to preserve the important aspect of a measuring tool. If you buy a similar tool, I'd recommend soap and water for starters. If that doesn't work, try a single edge razor on the bad parts and leave the rest.
