1 Bob was there early to get food sales off to a start. I was a bit surprised at how reasonably priced burgers and dogs were.
| 2 I have taken a small notebook along with me to get the details correct, but I forgot it. It would have taken me even longer to shoot pix if I had. Needless to say, I don't recall any of the details about this beauty, other than I liked it.
| 3 The finer details are what make a real show car. You won't see grease and oil in the engine compartment of a car like this.
| 4 The rest ain't too shabby either.

5 Uneven sunlight makes it difficult to get perfect pictures, but you get the general idea.
| 6 It was early, so the sun was relatively low in the sky, making the front sparkle and the shadows deeper.
| 7 It wasn't even seven o'clock yet and a lot of the cars were already there. Some of the Cruisers were discussing the lay-out.
| 8 If you look at the length of the shadows, you can get an idea of what time it was.

9 The quintessential hot rod, a Model A drop top.
| 10 Same car, different angle.
| 11 I've already forgotten what this is, but it's long and low, and looks pretty slick.
| 12 The sun glistens off the hood. A filter might have enhanced this photo, but I didn't think of that until afterwards.

13 This truckster is a case of the fake patina, or maybe just a true aged look with a coat of clear over it. Either way, I prefer a new looking car over a bogus worn-out one.
| 14 This wagon is another case of fake age. If you're going to go through the trouble of painting a car, why not make it look nice?
| 15 This is what keeps the wagon rolling.
| 16 This truck had exquisite lines and paint work. I didn't touch it, so I'm unsure if it is kustom metal work, or a fiberglass kit.
|
17 It was just as gorgeous on the inside as the outside.
| 18 I like the flowing fender lines. This would be my choice for an award if I had that option.
| 19 The Impala is another icon in the annals of hot rodding history. I believe that this was the first GM car to feature the 409 cubic inch engine.
| 20 This wasn't that engine.
|
21 I'm not huge into Corvettes, but this one had a lot of nice detail to it.
| 22 It's hard to see exactly what this bad boy had under the hood. It's a direct injected, supercharged late Vette engine.
| 23 I don't know why cars of this vintage are labeled, Tri-Fives...but here's one.
| 24 The Dodge dart was a popular muscle car, because they were light and a big motor could be crammed between the wheel wells.
