1 The ride up from Long Island took longer than I anticipated. I arrived a bit after six p.m. Friday but saw hot rods everywhere! I didn't see any point in paying to go into the show at that point, so I returned early Saturday morning to get a good parking spot. The cross-over offered a great view of the cars as they rolled in.
| 2 It wasn't yet eight o'clock, but the crowds were anxious to get in. The early sunlight makes picture taking a bit tricky. One thing I liked about the show was, there didn't seem to be any conditions for what was entered. So you see a little of everything.
| 3 Many of the cars were still under tarps or car covers, so I'd have to come back to see what was under wraps. I did get to shoot some as they pulled in.
| 4 The size of the show was astronomical. I wish I had a pedometer to see how far I walked just to see as much as I did.
|
5 I'll be the first to admit, after a while you can only be impressed by so many chrome engines or '32 Ford roadsters, so I'm taking pix of the real oddball cars, the ones that jumped out as truly unique.
| 6 Since I'm into airbrushing and trying to teach myself to pinstripe, those are things that I'm more likely to photograph.
| 7 Trucks are alo close to my heart...
| 8 How many custom Plymouths do you see on an average day?
|
 9 Some nice brushwork...
| 10 I have no idea what this is, but I've never seen one before, so that merits a shot on this site! It's obviously home made, but that aside I saw no info about what it's made from or any other details.
| 11 Superchargers and turbochargers look even more impressive when they're chromed.
| 12 As I said earlier, you see some rough-rods , full out kustoms, works in progress, and factory condition muscle cars, plus everything in between.
|
13 Yep, even the cops were there...
| 14 To make a car go faster, one method is to shave off excess weight, it looks like this owner took an unusual approach.
| 15 A couple of cans of Krylon, and this'll be good-to-go!
| 16 I was told that an LS motor is planned for this C-Cab. I was also told it weights about a buck and a quarter. I think that'll do some moving!.
|
17 The early sun casts some long shadows, but the lines of cars were a lot longer!
| 18 Nice stripework isn't always captured well on film...or digitally either for that mattrer.
| 19 I like the chop job on this hauler.
| 20 Did I mention that there's a little of everything? Here's the proof.
|
21 I like this style of Mustang a whole lot better than the crap Ford cranked out in the mid seventies and eighties. This style is timeless.
| 22 Early chargers are also super slick looking.
| 23 Here's some nice artwork on a '57 Nomad.
| 24 The big picture.
