1 I'm hardly a huge FoMoCo fan, but the early iron that Henry J. put out are a whole lot cooler than the garbola that was cranked out thru the seventies up to the early nineties. Here's a fine example of a true hot rod.
| 2 Some real back-yard innovation was utilized to make this mover.
| 3 Some more shade-tree mechanical work on display.
| 4 You'd probably hear this behind you before you ever thought to check your rear-view to see it!
|
5 Some smooth lead sleds also made the scene.
| 6 I've always considered red to be a "girly' color for cars, but candy apple always draws a crowd.
| 7 I didn't do a good job of capturing how well this paint job came out.
| 8 A fine example of the "less is more" philosophy.
|
9 Flames will never go out of style.
| 10 Say "Aahhhhh..."
| 11 Kustoms come in all shapes and sizes.
| 12 There's somuch to see, that i had to just get some "group shots" to save space on the memory card.
|
13 My primary interest is Kustom Kars. It would kill the better part of the day to see all the entries. No matter what your main line is, there's enoiugh going on to keep any Hot Rodder occupied.
| 14 I'm currently working on a truck, so I sought out trucks to get some inspiration. A nice interior is a great source to swipe ideas from, no matter what the genre is.
| 15 As an airbrush artist, that's a style I gravitate towards, but these are mostly traditional Hot Rods, so there wasn't a whole lot of eye candy for me to enjoy.
| 16 Although I didn't spend a really long time viewing each car, it seemed that there weren't a whole lot of the reproduction fiberglass bodied cars represented...which is fine by me!
|
17 Kool Kars as far as the eye can see.
| 18 The show starts on Friday and ends at 3:00 on Sunday, so leave plenty of time to see all the rides. It took me a few hours to cover the bulk of the territory. There's a bunch of exhibits and vendors in an inside portion, they also have a model car building contest for the youngsters. Good Guys know how to throw a great Car expo! The Columbus Ohio show is the grand daddy of their season.
| 19 Need I spell it out? Lotsa Kool Kars, all shapes, sizes and Kolors!
| 20 The vast majority are traditional styled Hot Rods.
|
21 The end of June is a great time of year to be in the Mid-Hudson area of New York state. Last year it was rainy, today was no different but it held off for as long as I was patroling the grounds.
| 22 I don't know exactly how many cars were on parade, but it had to be in the thousands.
| 23 Roadsters Rule!
| 24 Ardun is one of the very early makers of modified parts for rodders. I'm not sure if they were factory approved or aftermarket, but I DO know that they're highly desirable. Check out the size of those cylinder heads!
