4 original end needing repair	5 front hinge end needing repair. this one is broken off	6 opening the end so the halves can be slid apart
7 sliding the 2 hood halves apart	8 sliding hood halves apart	9 the recieving half of the hood hinge end after seperating.
10 cleaning up the reciveing side. use a small file or drill.	11 recieving side after cleaning up the edges with a file	12 recieving side prepped and ready

16 marking the old hinge for cut	17 drilling out the 2 rivets on the original	18 drilling the first rivet
19 drilling the second rivet	20 inserting a screwdriver to hold the hinge just off the hood	21 using a grinder with cut off blade. a hacksaw could be used
22 the old section cut and removed. be sure to remove any rust before putting the new end on	23 clean the burrs from cutting	24 new end set in place
25 use a good solid straight edge to line the new end up with the old hinge	26 once you have it lined up nice mark the new end for holes	27 drill holes for #8 screws. i go just a little bigger.
28 new hood hinge end installed and the screws are only finger tight	29 use a straight edge to align old hinge and new end and finishe tightening. this will insure a nice slide fit.	30 old to new comparison
31 end view of old to new comparison	32 sliding the 2 halves together after replacing the other end.	33 i find holding the 2 halves at about 90 degrees is the easiest position to slide the 2 halves back togehter.
34 once started these slide very easy compared to getting the 2 halves apart	35 sliding together	36 slide together and in place
37 now the hood hinge ends need to be closed or fit to the hood pivots.	38 use a pair of pliers to close the rear portion slightly. do not flatten. keep it as round as possible	39 close the front section enough so it fits into the pivot and works nicely. keep it as round as possible
40 new end on and adjusted to fit the pivot	41 this is how it should fit	42 there is a small gap underneath depending on how well you cut out the old. a small amount of siliconee or bead sealer will seal this up
