Here's the plane we flew from Phoenix to Page.

Here's the front porch in the morning.  Check out that view!  Dad's getting ready for his morning jog.

Here's the view around noon.  The rock in the distance is at Lone Rock Park- it's about 5 miles away and across the state line in Utah.

Lone Rock Park
Here's that rock you can see from the house.  It's in the middle of Lake Powell, created by a dam on the Colorado.  You can see the water level is down about 100 feet.

This place was quite an interesting balance of earth, fire, water, and air.

The mountain in the distance is Navajo mountain, or Naatsis'áán- it's one of the 4 sacred mountains that hold up the sky.

...from a lookout point about 5 miles out of town.  You can see the marina, and why so many people come to this area during the summer.

The mountain in the distance, I'm told, is Flagstaff.  I waved at my friend Meg, maybe she saw me.
"HI! Next time, come to Fla..."

We were at the North Rim, which is over 8000 feet and full of alpine goodness, including this pine tree that looks like a tuning fork.

More aspens!  This was on a trail that led to a campsite.  I probably hiked a mile, stopping to listen to the wind through the trees.

Here's a sign at the entrance to the park.  It was on a gravel plot about 5x5, and was where you could go to express some free speech.  Apparently there's some kind of law that says you have to have this at public places or else people can just express free speech anywhere.

This was shot as we left the park.  I'm a tree freak so I take lots of pictures of trees.

Halfway home from the trip to the North Rim, you go from alpine forest to red desert mesas.
