We set off a little later than planned; it took a little longer than I thought to get to the motel; and Shep had her first experience with keeping the top down during the rain. I made her suffer through it since the top had to be down to keep the car's height under 6 feet when it went onto the ship.

The longshoreman asked me if I would please drive it on and that was that. Up the ramp, onto a lift, down a couple of decks, and off into a storeroom set up for cars with tiedown hooks already in place. 2442 was tied down very carefully, and I was led back off the ship.
