Michoacan Tour (January 22, 2006)In early January of 2006 together with nine of my best friends, I took a second pottery trip into the remote villages of Mexico. This time "El Grupo" set out to witness the traditional pottery techniques, culture, cuisine and life style of the rural artisans of the state of Michoacan. We traveled under the able leadership and attentive care of Eric Mindling of Oaxaca. We were both entertained and educated about this rich culture as we traveled in his large, comfortable van, to experience sights which American tourists seldom witness. After viewing this photo album, anyone interested in more information about Eric's unique travel business can visit his web site: www.traditionsmexico.com Please don't hesitate to call me for a personal testimonial! Mexico in '05 (December 20, 2004)In cooperation with Eric Mindling of Oaxaca I traveled with a group of friends to explore the indiginous pottery of the highland region. Our experiences ranged from climing a small mountain to visit a seldom seen ancient ruin, eating fabulous food made just for us by potters and weavers in their homes, exploring the exotic open markets, and of course sampling many varieties of Mescal! Our guide and driver assembled a fantastic 10 day tour for us, full of surprise and discovery. Anyone wishing to learn more about the tour services of Eric Mindling can visit www.traditionsmexico.com Every member of our group would highly recomend traveling with Eric. |

OMYGOD Yunnan '03 (January 20, 2003)In January of '03 Marv Bjurlin organized a travel group to Yunnan province in southern China. A frequent exclamation among the 12 participants was "Oh My God!" The group visited kiln sites, museums, paper and textile workshops, temples, and much more. Enjoyment was considerably enhanced by the five Chinese traveling companions including Li Jiansheng, his wife Ying and sister Wenying. Please feel free to order prints from this site, or share the web site address with others interested in China. |

Italy in 04 (January 20, 2004)In January of 2004 Tina and I traveled with a group of 6 friends in Italy. We joined a tour organized by Trafalgar to Visit Rome, Capri and numerous places in Sicily. The pictures in this album represent some of the things I found interesting to photograph. They do not represent a chronology of the trip but rather just what caught my eye. |
