Images of the races at I-70, Odessa, MO. The races were rained out Sat. and held Sun. aft. 9/15/02. I-70 is a 1/2 mile asphalt track; this was my first visit there. They featured strucks, super trucks, dash, modified, and late model classes.

2 Picture of pits during strucks race, It's nice to have the pits in the oval; many small tracks have moved them outside. You can watch what's going on with the cars.

4 This class is called 'strucks'..small trucks and factory-type stock cars, an entry level kind of class. This is in turn 1 after the start. Watch for 87 & 50.
5 #87 (purple car) and # 50 (red truck) are racing hard, with lots of bumping & banging
6 As they came into turn 1, 50 banged 87 hard, causing a slide into the wall.
7 87 right after coming to a stop in turn 1
8 87's driver comes down & has some choice words for #50's driver. #50 was black flagged, and tossed from the race for aggressive driving.

10 #3 gets a little loose in turn 1. #8 is the 'racing' grandma'in her last race. I think she finished last by several laps
11 This class is the 'dash' cars..small 4 cylinder cars. One BMW gets ready to pass another BMW

13 Lots of racing between 9 and 69...9 won, and is the track champ in the 'dash' cars (it's a BMW!!)

16 To me, it looks funny to see asphalt (not dirt) modifieds...I guess I like dirt for modifieds a little better

19 This is the late model track champ, Clint Bowyer..he is also the dirt modified and regional champ at Lakeside Speedway.
