Testing ReTarget after KYC
| We’re a small team developing a gaming streaming portal and entertainment service with iGaming elements, and in recent months we’ve literally hit a wall due to geo-restrictions and strict compliance requirements. We get traffic from all over the world; we run ad campaigns, but end up with a crazy high bounce rate: sometimes a user accesses the site from a region where we don’t have the legal right to stream or accept payments, and other times our own security team blocks registration due to failed KYC verification or a suspicious IP address. In the past, we’d simply show users a blank page saying “This service is unavailable in your region” or “Your request was rejected by the risk management system.” Essentially, we were throwing away huge amounts of money on attracting visitors who hit a dead end and left for good. Recently, at an industry conference, colleagues advised us to stop losing this traffic and to test the ReTarget platform - https://retarget.gg/ , which allows us to embed a single script and automatically pull in monetizable offers via a Geo Popup for other regions and a Decline Popup the moment a rejection is displayed. We set up the integration in literally a couple of hours, configured triggers for verification failures and IP blocks, and the system really did start automatically selecting third-party offers tailored to those users’ countries. In terms of revenue, this has been a real lifesaver—rejected sessions have started to turn a profit under the CPA and CPC models. But I still don’t fully understand how other operators handle this on a larger scale. How well does the audience respond to these kinds of overlays when access is denied? Does it come across as spam to someone who just failed KYC, and does it create a negative perception of the main brand? Based on your experience, who uses these kinds of scripts in the SaaS, gaming, or finance sectors? What are the actual eCPM results, and which offers convert best—so as not to completely destroy user trust? |
