The following definitions are from the marble website: LUTZ:
A banded lutz is a marble with a single-colored base glass and two sets of two bands alternating with two lutz bands. Lutz is finely ground copper flakes or goldstone. The lutz bands are usually edged by opaque white strands.
An onionskin lutz is a marble that has an end of day onionskin core with lutz bands and/or lutz sprinkled on the core.
A ribbon lutz is a naked ribbon core swirl with lutz on both edges of the ribbon. There are single ribbon examples and double ribbon examples. No examples are known to exist that have an outer layer of strands or bands.

These appear to be clear glass hollow balls,covered with a black pitch and then overlayed with fine,swirls of pretty blue glass. Sheath overlay - Div 1-NBS small w/ brass loop shank and plate.
They are extremely fraglie and need a delicate touch when handling, so please, take them away from glutzy me before I drop another one.

44 OLD WISE OWL SATSUMA -HUGE 2"= SOLD
This enornmous, 2", OLD Satsuma button depicts a wise old owl, with gold highlights and the famous Satsuma crackle glaze.
The back shows the older Satsuma shank that rounded, unglazed and thread grooves.
NOTE: There is a 3/4" nick on the underside of the rim, as seen in the next scan. This does not penetrate through, nor can you see the chip from the front.

Showy,bold and artistic, with applied, very detailed poppy? flower and pronged set sapphire blue plastic cabachoen. The stone has some slight surface scratches, otherwise, great vintage condition.
The irregular border and almost full surface covering by the applied,very detailed flower make this an superb example of a Gay 90's button.

51 This rare and unusal medium, 1" black glass button with carnival luster is a beauty beyond words. It appears to be a fabulous creature with beak, wings and a flower reaching from the creature's back to the sky. Whatever, the design is, it is quite enchanting and the detailed craftsmanship is remarkable.Lined and etched background but the most interesting part, is the rare, ribbed and sectioned back with four-way box shank.
