First stop on the east rim - Yavapai Observation Station. This is a fantastic viewing station as one can see all the important landmarks on the Canyon like Vishnu Temple, Shiva Temple, Buddhist Temple, Wotan's throne etc., These names have been given based on the way in which these structures are eroded by nature.

If you draw a line in the middle of the picture, then on the left, the immediate plateau is the Wotan's throne and the peak on the right is the Vishnu temple. The Vishnu temple is similar to Tirumala hills temple, Tirupati.
