Friends and Seinfeld
On our first day of NY trip we started out with the Apartment buildings of the very famous sitcoms like Friends and Seinfeld. It was the day of Christmas and the streets were empty and it was nice for us as we did not spend too much time driving.

The famous Friends building. We were so amazed to see that the set in Warner-Bros studio in CA is almost an exact replica of the scenario in the Greenwich Village. This is apartment building in which Monica-Rachel & Chandler-Joey stayed for 10 years before things changed and they moved apart to different geographic locations.

Bedford and Grove - thats the address where the apartment building is located. This red building you see is a coffee house. Of course its NOT Central Perk. Central Perk was the name of the coffee house in the sitcom.

Thats the apartment opposite to Monica and Rachel's apartment. This apartment building has a lot of history. When Chandler, Joey, Monica and Rachel lived in the building opposite to this, they always used to watch out for the 'Ugly Naked Guy' through the window of Monica's apartment. After a while when 'Ugly Naked Guy' moved out we all must have seen the episode in which Ross tries his best to get the apartment subleted to him. We all remember Rachel screaming - 'Oh my God! Thats ours friend, naked Ross!' So finally Ross started living in this apartment at about the beginning of the 7th season.

The Fire-Escape: This is the famous fire-escape on which Joey hangs onto and Ross hangs onto Joey in the episode 'TOW They are up all night' We can recall that Ross and Joey get locked up on Monica's apartment terrace and finally they climb down the fire-escape. Ross hangs onto Joey and then finally jumps down and sprains his leg and hand. Its funny when you hear Ross say when he is down 'Hey! the quarter!'

Soup Nazi - Seinfeld's location of Soup place. This is the home of the very famous soup made by the Soup Nazi himself (but don't call him the soup nazi if you want any soup). Soup Kitchen International can be found at 259A West 55th street on the north side of the street between 8th Ave and Broadway. As on the show, you need to follow the rules to get soup. If you can't remember, here's a refresher:

1. Stand on line and have your order and money ready when you get to the counter.
2. Tell the Soup Naz-- er-- the soup guy your order and pay him.
3. Move to the far left to receive your order.

Here are some small transcipts of the Soup Nazi conversation. Try and visualize the actual character speaking and you will laugh. Sorry I cannot put that video online here.

GEORGE: I didn't get any bread.
JERRY: Just forget it. Let it go.
GEORGE: Um, excuse me, I - I think you forgot my bread.
SOUP NAZI: Bread -- $2 extra.
GEORGE: $2? But eve...
