After we finished the puja @ Sri Ranganathar temple in Pomona we started to Albany. We reached Albany at around 12:30 pm and it was fun and exciting to meet Ravi, Priya's cousin. It was the first time I was meeting him and it was after a long time Priya was meeting him. After lunch we took some rest and Ravi suggested we leave for Niagara Falls that day itself. That way we could see the falls @ night and in the morning the next day and reach Albany back by evening. So we reached Niagara Falls at around 9:30 pm and went straight onto the Canadian side. Now enjoy the pictures...

enlarge 55KB, 800x600 1 The American Falls - look at the ice and snow collected at the bottom and still the water flows with so much pressure and from such a great height.
enlarge 120KB, 800x600 2 Ravi, Priya and myself facing the American Falls in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada.
enlarge 69KB, 800x600 3 The Canadian Horseshoe Falls - the shape is like that, thats why its called horseshoe. Even in this season the force with which it falls (reduced force) is enough to create a rainy misty atmosphere near the Vista points. The next set of pictures are taken in different modes and different angles. choose your best pic and enjoy and lights and the Falls. This picture is taken in night mode and since it was misty each droplet of water has reflected light to give this effect.
enlarge 74KB, 800x600 4 Another shot trying to get the colorful Falls without any internal reflections from the small prisms in the atmosphere. Still night mode.
enlarge 71KB, 800x600 5 Yet another attempt...
enlarge 30KB, 800x600 6 Ok this one is a little far away from the actual Vista point - it became so misty and rainy that my camera became blind with water droplets. This pic is taken with no flash and auto focus mode. Not too good, see without nightmode you start to loose out the actual colors.
enlarge 88KB, 800x600 7 Last attempt at shooting the falls - lesser droplets of water to reflect now. It was awesome though. the weather goddess herself was not too bad. Just perfect.

enlarge 71KB, 800x600 15 Skylon tower - wish we could go up and see the Falls from there. But we could not rather we didnt bother to.

enlarge 119KB, 799x618 18 The next day we went to 'Behind the Falls tour' and as usual to make money they had a quick photo session, well, it turned out good so we bought it.
enlarge 45KB, 800x600 19 See how misty it is. We were right at the foot of the Canadian Falls. Try and see if you can. The Canadian falls are always this misty.
enlarge 36KB, 800x600 20 What you see in the picture is the Rainbow bridge and the American falls. A little more clearer than its international brother next to him.
enlarge 48KB, 800x600 21 There you go - a part of the Canadian falls.
enlarge 57KB, 800x600 22 I dont think you can see our faces...The day was dull and also lots of mist around because of the falls, but anyways here we were.
enlarge 64KB, 800x600 23 Look at the ice formation and still the water just keeps gushing down. Hopefully you would have checked out the video in which you can hear the sound of the water gushing down.
enlarge 49KB, 800x600 24 Another shot at it.
enlarge 104KB, 800x600 25 Inside the portal that takes you more closer to the falls.
enlarge 91KB, 800x600 26 We were just about 3 feet away from it. The gates were closed as there was lots of ice and its dangerous. But you should check out the video and hear the roar of the water. In summer they actually allow you to go as close as possible to the foot of the Falls so long as it is safe.
enlarge 153KB, 600x800 27 After the tour we decided to get some snapshots of the ice collected on the trees. Looks like nature's carving herself a fine piece of art.
enlarge 52KB, 600x800 28 Another work of art...
enlarge 137KB, 800x600 29 Splendid...
enlarge 155KB, 800x600 30 A hydro-electric plant along the driveway leading to the Floral Clock.
enlarge 84KB, 800x600 31 The floral clock - but you may ask where is the flora ? Its all hidden under the thick bed of snow.
enlarge 157KB, 800x600 32 Once we crossed the bridge and got back to the US side we thought we would just hike a little and see how the Niagara river flows across the place and drops itself into the Lake Ontario.
enlarge 144KB, 800x600 33 Look at that...
enlarge 112KB, 800x600 34 Hey why am I cut off from this pic ?
enlarge 128KB, 800x600 35 A better look at the force of nature. Respect it and enjoy from a distance.
