The last day of 2003 and we planned on going to Sausalito Downtown. Sausalito is a small town about a few miles across the Golden Gate Bridge. It is also a coastal area and at winter times does get realllly brrrrrrr cold. The downtown was fun to walk around and we were able to span te whole downtown in about 30 minutes or so. We were a group of 4 - Ramesh, Harsha, Priya and myself. This downtown looks like the downtown Mountain View on Castro street. For New Years, the streets were lit up with all lights and decorations. In another 8 hours 2003 would have set out and 2004 would be sinking in. Wish you all a very Happy New Year and indeed a prosperous one.

enlarge 96KB, 800x600 1 Welcome to Sausalito. A small town city with all the facilities on one street - its downtown street.
enlarge 68KB, 800x600 2 The backdrop is the Oakland-Bay bridge and the coast of the Pacific Ocean.
enlarge 73KB, 800x600 3 Harsha with the backdrop of the houses in downtown Sausalito. I think we are standing on a small port on the coast.
enlarge 62KB, 800x600 4 Yes, the same port with the pacific ocean and bay bridge. All four of us. From the left - Harsha, myself, priya and Ramesh.
enlarge 102KB, 600x800 5 Even Ramesh wanted his single - the boy is of right age so you can guess why :) We liked this house in the background. We infact found many such beautiful houses you will see later in the pictures.
enlarge 88KB, 800x600 6 One of the houses. You can use this as the wallpaper for your desktop. But while saving the image save the original size and not just the small one like this one !
enlarge 103KB, 800x600 7 Another shot at the houses. I'm sure you can appreciate the uniqueness the architect has built each of these houss. Its not like a complex of houses that almost resemble each other. Each house is different in every possible way starting from the design and location and altitude.
enlarge 98KB, 800x600 8 Yet another shot. Look at the color of the houses. Are they this color or have they been intentionally made to look like this?
enlarge 60KB, 800x600 9 Yet another shot at a house.
enlarge 100KB, 800x600 10 You know who would have taken this picture. I like this one. Its on the downtown street and we are just appreciating the smalltown downtown and wonderfully decorated shops for the New Year's.
enlarge 54KB, 800x600 11 Thats the pacific ocean and the Oakland-Bay Bridge. The buildings you are seeing is downtown San Francisco.
enlarge 82KB, 800x600 12 Downtown Sausalito - You can see how small the town is and we are pretty much done walking along.
enlarge 105KB, 800x600 13 This house had a telescope inside. I guess the person living is very much interested in watching the coast and the birds.
enlarge 80KB, 800x600 14 No, no its not a real sea lion but it is real bird. Lots of birds on the sausalito coast.
enlarge 144KB, 800x600 15 Just a shot at the one of the sidewalk flowers. Just for yet another wallpaper.
enlarge 59KB, 600x800 16 On our way back we stopped by a shop that was selling lucite sculptures. These sculptures are made out of a material called lucite and they are unbreakable and strong materials. Its amazing how the sculptors make these things. I cannot describe the whole process in this comment. But they are very expensive ranging from $2,000 to $20,000. This particular sculpture was designed for the Olympics. Observer closely.
enlarge 81KB, 800x600 17 This is another one of the sculpture of Jesus. It is a rotating 3D sculpture. This is amzing piece of artwork and wonderful craftsmanship.
