Korean barbecue (or KBBQ) can be traced back to the Koguryo Era in Korean history. It was developed by the nomadic tribe of Yemaek group. Their territory covered all of Korea and Manchuria. The Yemaek were always moving and had plenty of time to marinate their meats but needed a fast method to cook the meats. This is why maekjeok was invented. "Maek" is a reference to the Yemaek tribe, while "jeok" is the term used for the skewers used to cook their meats over an open fire. Then, a few hundred years later and an Korean Dynasty and an Mongol invasion and maekjeok departed from the skewers, and became the modern version, bulgogi. It's a sweet and savory beef marinated dish that's among the most requested items in korean bbq. | Date(s): January 27, 2023. Album by melancon raymonde. 0 Total. 0 Visits. |
