The use of flash. For this assignment we were to use the flash to do any or all of three things: freeze motion, combine motion with flash, use the flash for 'fill' (where you have a nice background, but your subject is too dark, but you don't want to overexpose the background). I didn't freeze any motion... I played with some blur effects (got some cool ghost images) and tried my hand with the fill flash.

flash w/slow shutter speed... the instructor was our subject and he was ours... you can see his flash firing, and the two images of him are from my flash and another student's.
Proper use of fill flash... expose for your background (in this case the setting sun) and the fill flash lights up the subject.
Playing in class... One of my classmates standing still while I rotated the camera. When the flash fired, I got the image of her, yet she's also blurred from before the flash fired.
Another classmate. She was walking towards me while I was backing up. Blurring on the walls show I'm moving, and her blur shows she was also moving... but there is also a clear image of her from when the flash fired.
Another decent use of fill flash. The sun was further down, and Magic would NOT quit eating long enough to look at me for a better shot. LOL
Here I twitched the camera... a little bit slower shutter speed combined with flash. You can mostly see her... especially her tongue. The rest is a crazy blur. Kind of cool!
Penny's ears grew! Well, not exactly. They kind of elongated when I moved the camera to achieve this shot with flash.
