Penny has been to the beach before, and I'm trying to recall if this is Midnight's first trip. I just can't remember. I do know this is the first trip where we went just for the dogs (not just dragging them along on one of our outings). Yes, we went with the whole intention of giving the girls a fun day in the surf and sun. :)
They had a blast... slept the whole way home... slept while John and I watched TV in the evening... and slept the whole night through without so much as a peep!

The Ratties look like they had a blast. I know you must feel refreshed!! Midnighty and her evil twin Radar need to get together for some fun like that SOON :)

1 Penny is smiling... this might just be a fun day!
2 Potty break! Good thing we brought a bunch of baggies!
3 The girls discovered waves. This water is not like the horse trough... it MOVES!
4 Penny ventures out after the ball.
5 Midnight brings the ball back. Penny tries for the steal.
6 Come on dad! Throw the ball!
7 Racing after the ball.
8 Is her mouth big enough? The bigger balls are harder to grab in the water.
9 Getting ready to shake the water out of her ears. Oh no! Is that sand on the ball?
10 Wet Penny. She would roll and roll in the dry sand to try and dry off. Silly girl!
11 Midnight swims back with the ball. Penny waits pateintly.
12 Midnight gets submerged. This is what happens when you grab for the ball at the same time a wave gets there.
13 Penny goes for the ball. She is not as aggressive as Midnight... her dainty grabs for the ball just pushed it out into deeper water. She'd get discouraged and swim back... then head back out when the waves brought it closer.
14 Penny is thinking about coming out in the water. Everyone else is in the water, but she isn't so sure it's a good idea to swim out. She's hoping we come back soon.
15 Tossing treats... What a fun game! They knew I had them, so when I hollered 'TREATS!' they would come running (most of the time).
16 Shaking the water out. All that diving for the ball gets water in the ears. Midnight gets it out quickly so she can get pack to playing.
17 Yee hah! The girls had a super fun day! Midnight teases Penny with the ball, Penny barks.
18 John is trying to get the ball back. Midnight isn't playing that game. She'll give it up when she's good and ready.
19 Midngiht swims out for the ball. Penny watches, hoping she won't have to swim out there too. She's starting to get tired.
20 Here we come! John and I are in the water with the ball. Irresistible to a couple Rats!
21 Buried alive! Midnight lies calmly while John covers her with sand. Penny wasn't nearly as thrilled with this abuse! LOL
