The board unanimously votes to appoint Adjutant Mike Kimlick as the new Commander. Mike accepts and as of October 3rd, 2012 the Commander of Post 177 is Michael Kimlick. Veterans Day & Flag Retirement Ceremony (November 12, 2011)The American Legion Department of Virginia Fairfax Post 177 hosted area veterans and members of the community for a Veterans Day "Thank You" luncheon and solemn Flag Retirement Ceremony. American Legion Auxiliary Unit 177 hosted 50 Veterans from Area Nursing Homes for a sit down lunch especially prepared for them. City of Fairfax Mayor Rob Lederer, City Manager Bob Sisson, Councilman Silverthorne, Councilwoman Schmidt, Deputy Chief Vita of the Fire Department and Detective Bartholeme of the Police Department joined State Commander Doug Ramos, 17th District Commander Ed Dockery and Vice Commander Cordell Creditt in greeting the veterans. |
