SAM
Fourty some odd years ago, I started to collect SAM's drawings as he gave them to me, one or two pages at a time, until they made up this "volume" of his work. He drew most of them in 1970 with very few stragglers during the following year.
SAM, Steven Alan Miller, is still called by his initials nick name by his 'inner circle'. He did not continue this art form and these pages represent the main body if not the totality of his drawing efforts.
I scanned them to give them some archival structure after forty years and make them available to be seen by a wider audience. Until now only a few have had the pleasure to see them in their 'original' on note paper in protective covers in the black 3 ring binder, where they are again after scanning.
As of mid 2012, this album had well over four thousand visits. I am glad so many can appreciate his unique art which he unfortunately practiced for only a very short period.
