This species has several common names: Madagascar Big Headed Gecko, Madagascar Ground Gecko, Ocelot Gecko, Panther Gecko, and, of course, Pictus Gecko. Pictus geckos are a ground dwelling gecko from the coastal & scrub regions of South Madagascar. I got this little guy from East Bay Vivarium and am very pleased with him. |

Hatchling Pictus Gecko (September 9, 2006)Name: Winter
Hatched 5~12~06, this little girl was too cute to pass up.
12/30/06 This little girl has been a challenge to tame. She was screaming at me when I'd put my hand in her enclosure but she has calmed quite a bit. She escaped her enclosure by scaling the glass and we found her 8 days later...luckily she was ok. She's growing fast, she eats a lot everynight. She's becoming more and more tame with time. |

Pictus geckos are a ground dwelling gecko from the coastal & scrub regions of South Madagascar. This species has several common names: Madagascar Big Headed Gecko, Madagascar Ground Gecko, Ocelot Gecko, Panther Gecko, and, of course, Pictus Gecko. I bought her from East Bay Vivarium on 3/11/06. She's quite tame and eats great.
Summer passed away mysteriously. |
