THE fabulous Class A, all-tube VOX AC15TB amplifier model that was built in England several years prior to VOX moving all production to China. This particular unit, I believe, was built in 1997. There are a couple of small tears in the tolex. It’s in very good+ condition, though a bit of an oddity in that the label says AC15TB2 and yet it's got only one 12" speaker and appears to be all original.
This is the Top Boost model with that rich, chimey VOX tone. It has the famous, smooth overdrive “crunch” when cranked. This one comes with the preferred VOX Blue Alnico speaker The 2 Groove tube EL84 output tubes are pretty fresh as are the 5 groove tube 12AX7s and 5Y3 rectifier tube. This British built version has the birch cabinet. There are holes on the bottom 4 corners for casters (not included)
The Current VOX AC15-CC1 models built in China is cost-reduced model and doesn’t have a tube rectifier, which is an essential part of the classic VOX tone and sound.
Controls are Volume, Treble, Bass, Reverb, Tremolo Speed, Tremolo Depth and Master. The original double-switch foot pedal is included. |
