I have the same exact Tele-Star! My Dad got it from a friend back in about 1970 who had it on a ship while in the Navy. I got it when my dad bailed on us, still got it, still plays great! It turns out, Jamie LaBoz, Maurice Boz's son lives here in Tucson and in a band called "The Modeans". His dad Maurice owned Tele-Star. I spoke to Jamie, shoed him the guitar and he remembers it from the wharehouse as a kid. I love the old MIJ guitars!!!! I have more MIJ's plus an Epi Goldtop, SG, Tele, etc...15 in all. If anyone wants to trade pics, stories or the history, drop me a line..."keep calm and jam on!" (11/18/14) - Jim Winn, Tue, 18 Nov 2014 3:46AM |

I have two telestar guitars one is acoustic and the other is electric. I bought the acoustic 30 years ago for $35.00 and the electric I found in a thrift store in rough condition and I ask the lady how much and she said you can have it. I said thank you very much. I am in the process of restoring it now. Thanks for having your site I didn't know if ther were any others out there. - rev. jessie james stevens, Mon, 11 Dec 2006 7:28PM |
