Silvertone H42 "Newport"
Silvertone H42 "Newport"
This is the Silvertone version of the Harmony Newport H42 from the late 1950s. The frets have been cleaned up and this is one of the best playing example of this guitar that we've ever had. The bridge has been radius-ed to match the radius of the fingerboard and a ground wire has been run from the bridge to the controls to prevent buzz. The cream tone knob is not original but it's old and looks and works great. There is some wear on the butt end and the finish has worn away behind the "cowboy" chord position on the neck. The original green finish has faded to a little more golden color on the entire face. The "Harmometal" trim is intact and in great condition.
