L. McSpadden Mountain Dulcimer
L. McSpadden Mountain Dulcimer, This is just a beautiful instrument. There are only a couple of VERY light scratches and no dents. The label inside reads: "The Dulcimer Shoppe, 620 Broadway Forrest City Arkansas, M-12R" She was made 1969. ..serial #480 I called McSpadden and I was told the “R” stands for REDWOOD. (I thought it looks more like rosewood) . Lovely scroll head with fancy inlay on the back center seam. Solid spruce top with unique “sprung” feature at the tail end. It’s about 36 1/4 in. long, 7.25 in. wide, & 2 in. deep (not including fretboard), with a 28 1/2 in.scale. McSpadden has a history of making some of the best Appalachian dulcimers and this one is no exception. The sound is very warm, not tinny. Sorry, no case | Date(s): April 19, 2004.
