Ibanez Destroyer II - 1980s MIJ
Ibanez X-Series Destroyer II - Explorer style MIJ
Item is a 1984 Ibanez Destroyer II (X-series) "Made In Japan" black electric guitar. This is very similiar to the Phil Collen model... only this one has a bolt on neck.
It features 3 creme colored humbucker pickups that resemble Dimarzio Super Distortion PUs. They give this axe a loud, hot sound. Controls: Volume, Volume, Tone + 3 way PU switch.
The neck is a 22fret maple with rosewood fingerboard. An explorer style basswood body gives the guitar a distinctive rock look that is sure to turn heads.
It's been professionally setup in our shop, and it plays as good as it sounds - which is excellent.
Includes a Non-original Trem-arm. We aren't sure if the trem cavity cover is original, but it has been painted black.
Unit is listed in "good" condition. It has definitely seen a lot of action, as the body has a few bumps and bruises on it. We created a Photo Album of high res photos so you can see every square inch of this guitar in detail. Click here to visit the photo album.
The most notable cosmetic issues are gashes that have been painted black at some point in this guitar's life. The finish work is pretty well done however, as it blends well with the rest of the factory finish. These areas are primarily on the rear of the guitar, below the control plate (see photos). There is another on on the bottom, near the bottom strap button. There is also on on the bottom "horn" (on the rear), the one closest to the switch cover. Also, the plastic jack plate has become cracked and brittle from age. It has visible cracks, however it has been superglued and remains stable.
Don't let these cosmetic issues throw you off however; this guitar still screams.
We're including a non-original hardshell case. It looks like the case originally fit a flying v style guitar, but this Destroyer fits perfectly in it as well.
