2001 Gibson Custom Shop 62 Les Paul Reis
2001 Gibson Custom Shop 62 Les Paul Reissue with new TKL hard case. It's completely original and sounds amazing! This does NOT come with any of the supporting paperwork or the original case.. Serial number 0108x2 From the Gibson website: “ HISTORIC '60s SOLIDBODIES, EXAMPLE: 010018 (1968 LP Custom) -the first 2 digits represent the year of production (2001) -the next 3 digits represent the guitar's place in the sequence of '60s solid-bodies produced that year -the last digit represents the year being reproduced (1968)” There is some buckle rash, several scratches and dings (see photo of the chip on the back of the headstock). There appears to have been a repair done to the control cavity walls, although it didn’t break completely through (the face shows no cracks) there is evidence of repaired cracks on the two side edges and the back cavity wall.
This guitar has been professionally set-up and it plays great – The frets are very clean and show almost no wear. - The neck is straight and the truss rod works perfectly. There is a slight lifting of the lacquer between the fingerboard and neck on the bass side at 16th – 21st frets..there was no separation and the notes play perfectly.
-Classic 1957 humbucker pickups -Grover tuners -Rosewood fret board -Lightly aged finish -Aged hardware
There are no issues with the headstock or heel Everything is in 100% working order.
Though the case is not Custom Shop and I am unfortunately lacking the COA, The neck joint and serial number do confirm that this guitar is indeed a Custom Shop model. Regular USA models have an 8 digit number with "Made in the USA" stamped underneath. This neck joint is specific to the Custom Shop Gibson 61and 62 Les Paul. Clearly this is not a perfect example, but it is a great guitar and a chance to get a Custom Shop model at a very reasonable “player” price. | Album by Daniel Wollock.
