Desolation Wilderness 2005
The beginning of the Tahoe to Yosemite Trail (TYT) goes 30 miles from Meeks Bay on Lake Tahoe to Echo Summit. Conditions were a bit snowy but we made it.

Rubicon Lake the other direction from our campsite. The trail goes off to the right side through the snow. We decided to stop here the first night.

Lunch at Dick's Lake. Viki and I went for a swim (yeah right). Dicks Pass is the low point in the background. Not sure how we are going to make it up that.

Phew! Susie Lake and our camp for night number 2. A beautiful lake with big, fat trout.

We have made it to Lake Aloha, largest lake in the Desolation Wilderness area. Lots of snow covering the trail.

We end our trip at Echo Lakes. 30 miles and no blisters! A wonderful trip.

WoW!  Beautiful pictures but I did not see a Holiday Inn, ha....I guess we could not have stayed close to eachother, ha.  What great memories, like the ones I have from your wedding.  Thanks to Aunt Anita for sharing....

Your pictures are fabulous!  Looking at them brings back fond memories of backpacking in Desolation years ago.
