 1 1st Series Pan American Airways Issued in 1928
|  2 Earliest Postmark seen on a Pan American Airways postcard General Machado NC 53. By the end of January 1928 only 71 passengers had flown to Havana, Cuba with Pan Am. This card was mailed 2 days after that.
|  3 Earliest Postmark seen on a Pan American Airways postcard Postmarked Feb 2, 1928 at Habana, Cuba. Notice the stamp has been removed. Unfortunately stamp collectors frequently did this.
|  4 Early First Series The first series of postcards issued by Pan American Airways were produced in 1928. Notice the early logo on the side of the plane. This is the General Machado, NC53, which was the first Fokker F-VIIa/3M aircraft put into service by Pan Am.
|  5 Early First Series In the first series of postcards issued by Pan Am there are two different backs. This is the first back. Notice there is no "POST CARD" printed on the back. Picture postcards in the U.S. were supposed to have "POST CARD" printed on the back of the card.
|  6 Wanted !!! This card is similar to the cards before and after this message except it shows a 3/4 angle view of the same plane.

|  16 Late First Series General New, NC 3314. The gentleman on the right is pilot Ed Musick. He died tragically with his crew aboard their Sikorsky S-42B Samoan Clipper at Pago Pago in 1938.
