Waiahole Ditch Tunnel Hike. Photos of a hike into the water tunnels of Waiahole Valley. These tunnels were built in 3 years with pick axes and dynamite, finished in 1916 to bring water from the Windward side to irrigate the sugar cane fields of the Ewa plain (see map). Thanks to John G. for the invite and to his Auntie Chris for the hospitality at her beautiful house in Waiahole. Click on "Start Slideshow" and you can sit back and view all of the images (hit the "F11" key to maximize the window). You can set the time delay between the images and view the images in Large, X-Large (1023x767) or Full-Sized (well, actually I uploaded them at 50% size, 'cause at 12 megapixels, the files are huge!) Check out the panoramas in the largest mode. You can also pause or stop the slideshow and manually go back and forth through the images. If you are using Windows, just right-click the image and you can "Save Picture As" to save it to your computer (I'll collect the photo royalties later :). Hope you enjoy the photos, or at least lie and tell me that you do. You can sign the guest book if you want and please feel free to add any comments and share these photos with anyone you think might be interested.
