Early Sunday morning, I started my return trip back to Richmond, VA. Halfway in Kentucky My Exhaust on my 85 505TD wagon decided to stay behind, So the rest of the way I was driving a " Roaring Lion " Made the 1500 mile round trip without any other incidents ! 1 It was a bit overcast and cool, but we still had a great turnout for the fall car & motorcycle meet/cruise-in, especially since there were a few other car shows (with judging and trophies) in the Bloomington area that day.
It wouldn't be a photo album without at least one 'selfie', would it?!? Jim's friends Tracy and Wayne drove from North Carolina to attend their first fall meet/cruise-in!
This Peugeot 103 moped made it's way to Virginia with Steffen for his handiwork to get it running. He took two other mopeds (a 103 and a 104) to Virginia last year as well.
We were ready for the guests to arrive.
Jim's 1967 404 coupe injection stayed in the 'Peugeot Polebarn' with several of the other Peugeots this year.
Jim's Peugeot bicycle. He admits that he hasn't taken it for a ride yet, but that is the goal... eventually!
Some of Jim's Peugeots, from left to right: 1988 205GTI, 1992 605SV 3.0, 1984 604 turbo-diesel (purchased from Steffen a couple of years ago), and 2000 406 coupe.
Jim's 1966 404 cabriolet injection stayed on the upper level. Below it is his 1966 404 break/station wagon.
Jim's 1968 204 cabriolet stayed inside too. Did you notice the 'dueling banjo' skeletons hitching a ride? They were motion activated and added a bit of pre-Halloween entertainment to the day.
Jim's 2001 206XS. As you can see, the personalized plates on Jim's Peugeots have the two-digit year and the model designation.
The 1968 404 sedan automatique spend the day inside as well. We're not sure what is causing all of this attention... we're probably going to move it so we can lower the upper-level Peugeot (a 1991 405 Mi16... see a related photo later).
These Peugeots stayed inside... from left to right, top row: 1979 504 diesel sedan, 1958 403 cabriolet, 1991 405 Mi16 sedan, and 1966 404 cabriolet injection. From left to right, bottom row: 1967 404 coupe injection, 1966 403 sedan, 1968 404 sedan automatique, and 1966 404 break/station wagon.
Mike's 1965 Mustang convertible. Mike has attended several of the fall meets.
The view from Jim's house.
Some of the vehicles in attendance. Jim's brother and sister-in-law Paul and Judy drove their 2001 Audi TT from Minneapolis.
Another view of some of the participating vehicles.
Another view of Jim's 1988 205GTI, 1992 605SV, 1984 604TD, and 2000 406C.
Another view of some of the participating vehicles.
Tucker's 1962 MGA Deluxe. Tucker and his MGA have attended several of the fall car meets/cruise-ins.
There was plenty of time to relax and talk, with most people choosing to stay inside, at least some of the time.
However, a few people preferred the bright sunshine outdoors.
Another view of the vehicles. The weather was very nice all afternoon.
Another view... I'm sure you notice Larry's "homebuilt dune buggy" amongst the Corvettes and other sports cars.
Larry's "Homebuilt dune buggy"... more photos to follow.
A view from the rear...
And the cockpit...
This was early in the day as we were 'staging' the Peugeots. On the left, Jim's 1992 405 sports wagon, Steffen's 1985 505TD station wagon, and Jim's 1960 403 station wagon. Paul and Judy's TT looks a bit lonely, doesn't it?
The 206XS is ready to go outside and park in the sun... at least it's the color of sunshine! :-)
From left to right: Jim's 2001 Peugeot 206XS, Mike's 1965 Mustang convertible, Joe's 1984 Buick, Keith's 2002 Miata, and Tucker's 1962 MGA Deluxe.
From right to left: Paul and Judy's 2001 Audi TT, Tucker's 1962 MGA Deluxe, Keith's 2002 Miata, and (barely visible) Joe's 1984 Buick.
Gary's 2001 MRII and Larry's dune buggy.
Fall must be approaching...
A view from the house showing the nice turnout and the beautiful weather.
Another view showing the nice turnout and beautiful weather.
And another view...
More and more people came outside as the day progressed and the sun came out from behind the clouds.
Jim's friends Ken and Gary... I hope we aren't being too boring!! :-)
The 'pitch-in' buffet was plentiful thanks to everyone who attended!
The 'east coast' contingent enjoying the afternoon with Jim. Tracy and Wayne drove from Kernersville, North Carolina, and Steffen drove from Richmond, Virginia. (And Jim drove his John Deere lawn tractor from the house!!)
The 1991 405 Mi16 lowered from the top level so it can be parked near the door for easier access for some mechanical repairs in the future.
All of the Peugeots are parked inside the 'Peugeot Polebarn' at the end of the day.
Another view of Jim's Peugeots all 'tucked in' at the end of the day.
We can't remember if this was taken at the beginning or at the end of the day. It pretty much looks the same either way. ;-)
At the beginning of the day, the Peugeot station wagons were parked together. From left to right: Jim's 1992 405, Steffen's 1985 505TD, and Jim's 1960 403.
Jim's 2001 Peugeot 206XS and Paul and Judy's 2001 Audi TT. The 206 will be moved shortly. In the background is Jim's 1981 504 station wagon with a non-standard turbo-diesel engine.
Getting the coffee, tea, and hot chocolate table set up.
Looks like we're almost ready for everyone to arrive.
There's always time for a little 'walking-n-talking'.
The 'pitch-in' buffet was ready for lunch time!
There was always time for some good conversation.
Oops!! Looks like someone got off track!! It was delicious none-the-less!!
