Too many projects, so little time.  This is my newest journey (an easier one, though).  This is the start of my JAWA display for my collection room.

FIrst, I've made the holes on the NOSE (to breathe), and where the two LED's will fit:  at nose level under the eyes, just a little to the sides parting from the centers of the eye holes.

I've sprayed the mouth of the mask with FLAT BLACK since I had an idea at the time, but now is not important.  I've sanded most of the mask with fine grit sandpaper (not touching the mouth area), and added "SCRIM" material to the eyes.  Glue around the eyes.

Cut the excess material, specially around the jawa eye holes.

I bought a feet lenght of this black hairy "puppet" fabric, enough to make three masks.  I've cut only about 15" of it measuring from the hemmed edge. This material is really messy.

carefully, cut slits for the eyes, not to cut the mesh underneath.

Now it's looking like Rorschach (SP?) from WATCHMEN.  ANyway, ready to glue around the eye holes, not to cover the LED holes area.

Against a light source.  No one will be able to see your real eyes.

All the top is glued in place parting from the "crown" of the mask down to ear level... we're now ready to work with the MAIN EVENT.

Carefully, glue the LED's from the back (hint: make the holes just enought that the LED could fit SNUG).

Apply the bottom of the toy canister through the LED by making the hole snug as well, and covering the bottom of the canister cap with MILAR tape, and glued in place.

Both sides done, ready to attach the canister covers.  First, cut a vertical slit, just a slit, where the eyes should go...

canister bodies glued in place, after sanding the inside and cutting the excess (I hate seeing them too long for the eyes).  Now, carefully glue the area surrounding the "JAWA EYES", and carefully slide tthrough the material through the slits, and set the glue around it.

Here, I used what I've found in the meantime, just to demonstrate how it looks with a hood as a costume.
