Dodge Special Power Wagon and M601
One ton 4WD open cab military vehicles made from mid fifties to 1972 for export only as an inexpensive alternative to the M37 3/4 ton trucks.  1 of 91 produced in 1968.  230ci. engine.  NP420 transmission.  5.83 gear ratio.  12 volt negative ground.  Shared many parts with M37.  Also some photos of open cab WM300 Power Wagons.  Thanks to Tim Holloway for help.

First M601 contract was 1957.  Undated factory photo. No winch, third series bed, early Dodge emblem, hood emblems, cowl lamps with painted bezels.  Windshield latches high on hood.

Great information here on these trucks. Odd that they were built in the US, yet none stayed here or in Canada yet Mexico got them. Very rare trucks here.

Excellent pictures! Could you please check: The M601 used by the Danish Army used to have the 251 Engine not the 230.
Danish trucks are actually WM300 chassis cowl, not M601.
