THE WEDGE IN NEWPORT BEACH
The news this morning reported big waves along the beaches in Orange County, prompting me to check out the famous "Wedge" in Newport Beach. The name comes from the intersection of the beach and a rock jetty which creates larger waves within this small "wedge," and attracts only the hardy and most daring body surfers.
The waves turned out to be only moderately larger than usual, but great weather and big crowds presented opportunities for some good shots.
