CHANGE OF COMMAND - 15TH MEU
On December 5, 2008, in a Change of Command ceremony, Colonel Brian D. Beaudreault relinquished command of the 15th MEU (Marine Expeditionary Unit) to Colonel Roy A. Osborn.
Colonel Beaudreault assumed command of the MEU on August 5, 2005, and during his tour of some 40 months, led the unit on two deployments.
These images of the ceremony are presented in the order of events of the day, beginning with the gathering of guests, serenade by the 1st Marine Division Band, the ceremony, and concluding with informal greetings and congratulations among families and guests. Afterward, Colonel & Mrs. Beaudreault hosted a reception at their home.

The passing of the colors, delivered by the Sergeant Major to the outgoing Commanding Officer, and in turn presented to the new Commander, symbolizes the formal transfer of command responsibilites.
After the passing of the colors, Colonel Beaudreault was called front and center to be awarded the Legion of Merit, followed by presentation of a Certificate of Commendation from Lt. General Helland, CG I MEF, to Mrs. Karen Beaudreault, for her leadership role in caring for families of the unit during two deployments.
Colonel Beaudreault and Colonel Osborn addressed guests and members of the 15th MEU prior to a Pass In Review which concluded the ceremony.
