Hydrangea Frost
I kept going back to these glass crackle beads in my local craft store. They were, after all, 'my' colors. They were in those little variety packets, so I would have to get several to do anything. Well, they went on sale ... The result is what I call 'Hydrangea Frost' [thanks to Kathleen, the other Glitter Gal for helping remember the name of the flower the beads reminded me of].

Here's a 'flat' view of the parure. This one doesn't do the colors justice [but not to worry, there are lots more pics vbg ].

Hydrangea Frost necklace
The necklace is made using a two needle technique. It is two layers for a total of five rows. I discovered that on a two needle design you cannot use rayon thread. It shread on me after I had completed about 90% of the necklace [argh]. I tried to weave in a new piece of thread but the holes in the crackle beads are too small. They snapped in half! They also snapped when I tried to ream a larger hole. Live and learn.

Hydrangea Frost necklace
The crackle beads are a combination of sizes, shapes and colors. On all rows, I used a combination of round and faceted beads. This was for variety AND the fact that I didn't have enough of either to do a row. Row 1 is all small pink beads. Row 2 is medium variegated. Row 3 is small blue. Row 4 alternates pink and blue medium. Row 5 is small veriegated with a veriegated tear drop dangle under each pink in row 4.

Hydrangea Frost bracelet
The bracelet is a modified version of my original design. I had invisioned the bracelet on memory wire, two parallel pieces. But the wire was too large for small crackle beads. Again snap! The bracelet is all veriegated crackle beads; small, large and tube shaped.

Hydrangea Frost earrings
I used the earrings to tie the set together.  I used the tube beads from the bracelet and the small veriegated beads from the necklace.

I love the clusters.  They remind me of wisteria. Wait, I have an idea :) .

Hydrangea Frost hair jewel
I decided to add a fun hair jool to the parure.  I have long hair and it adds a special touch.

Grand Teton
This set was inspired by a photo of fall foliage in the Grand Tetons. I wasted a couple of lunch hours looking for the photo after I finished the set but maybe I just dreamed it.
