enlarge 86KB, 800x600 1 Parker & Grandpa - our dock at Black Bear Lodge. This is actually the picture of Parker's first sunfish caught in the lake (the 10th fish he had caught in his life). We lost count a couple of days later because he caught so many more.

enlarge 66KB, 533x800 3 Greg and Parker - we're heading out to try our luck. We had a nice boat and were able to fish from one end of the lake to the other.
enlarge 91KB, 800x533 4 Elaine and Steve & Sean and Manon came over on Monday and spent the day with us. Here we all are on the dock enjoying a little fishing. I'm on the left trying a little fly fishing.
enlarge 106KB, 800x533 5 Sean is getting a big kick out of Parkers big red roostertail lure.
enlarge 97KB, 800x533 6 Greg making a few casts - he caught a nice northern pike off the dock here.
enlarge 78KB, 800x533 7 Sean, Parker, and I went out in the boat. Here sean shows off a nice pumpkinseed sunfish.

enlarge 72KB, 628x800 9 The end of a long day - Parker finally wears out.
enlarge 74KB, 800x600 10 A shot of Parker asleep.
enlarge 64KB, 800x600 11 Grandpa reading Parker one of the chapters in his book about robots on Mars. We had fun drawing the characters in the book.
enlarge 106KB, 607x800 12 On a cloudy day we headed north to the "Loose Moose" bar and grill. It was closed but we got these shots in front of the moose anyway.

enlarge 91KB, 600x800 15 Parker trying the pump at the roadside park.
enlarge 119KB, 800x600 16 We were close to the Michigan border so we drove up so that Parker could say he had been in Michigan. We stopped at this roadside park just over the border.

enlarge 103KB, 800x600 18 Looking off the end of our balcony.
enlarge 98KB, 800x600 19 Another view of the lakefront trail. The swim area is at the right side in the distance. It was too cold to swim on the day the picture was taken.
enlarge 100KB, 800x600 20 A view of our dock from our balcony. Parker and Bill are fishing for sunfish from the dock.
enlarge 99KB, 800x533 21 Parker fishing in his "bluegill hole" - he pulled a lot of sunfish out of here. It was amazing - he learned to cast the spinning rod after three tries. He was even baiting his own hook by the end of the week.
enlarge 81KB, 800x533 22 Looking west from the swimming area - the point beyond the swim raft leads to the West and East arms of the lake. Black Bear Lodge is on the South Bay arm.
enlarge 97KB, 800x533 23 Parker pulls out another one.

enlarge 84KB, 664x800 25 This was our last night and we were getting as much fishing in as we could.
enlarge 96KB, 800x533 26 Getting ready to leave on our last morning - this is Parker out on our balcony. There was a grill there that Greg used to cook some delicious meals during the week.
enlarge 102KB, 800x533 27 A final view out to our dock.
enlarge 65KB, 800x533 28 This is the swimming beach at the south end of the Lodge shorefront. We did a lot of fishing in this bay.
enlarge 114KB, 800x533 29 This is the south campfire ring. They had a campfire here on Sunday night. Parker and I went down and they were having a hard time starting the fire. What they were doing was piling a bunch of logs on top a newspaper and lighting it and expecting to get a fire. I soon got a fire going. On our last night, there was a campfire at the north campfire ring. Another group was having trouble getting their fire started. Parker went up and volunteered our help: "My grandpa and me are pretty good at starting fires".
enlarge 89KB, 588x800 30 On our wey out we stopped to play minature golf at this course in St. Germain. We all had a good time before our long drive to Minneapolis.
