In early January, Annie (our helper) spied this hawk on our deck railing. One of our suet feeders is just to the right of the feeder, which is normally full of birds but no birds were evident anywhere when the photo was taken.
After 39 years it was time to say goodbye to the Gray Ghost, my 1985 Camry. I hadn't driven it much the last 3 years as it needed a new alternator and when we got our new (relatively) Corolla, I had to keep it parked outside. I charged the battery and when they came to take it, it fired right up.

Every spring, the vine maple on the north side (right) of my drive gets its leaves early while the one on the south is still bare. In the fall it is same as the north one shed its leaves before the south one changes color.
