On April 29, 2011 through May 11, 2011 our group commenced more definition on the meaning of Five and Dime Style via a third challenge. Animal themes were the rule of the day, three submissions per participant were allowed. Any type of jewelry form was permissable except charm bracelets....because THEY will be Round FOUR! 10 The second entry for the Five & Dime Challenge from Kate Mulligan. This is my Caterpillar Hunter, aka "Fiery Searcher" beetle. I enjoyed getting the colors on the metal to match the actual beetle in my gardening book. This is a necklace, with a set of earrings to match that are not in the closeup. www.organicteabykate.com

18 Jennifer says: I mounted it on a round blank and added a row of pearls, red gems and clear gems. I ink stained the horses with alcohol ink and added a clear coat over the top of the horses. There is a pin back on the back of the piece. From Jennifer Lee Jazwick-Smith.

21 A cool colorized entry from Deb Beechy of Beetique. Deb says: I know some designers did rooster pins like Hattie, etc. The rooster came from B'Sue and so did the pinback. Painted with Lumiere paints and coated with Ice Resin.

23 From Marlene Strait, I love the Fox and Grapes motif. Marlene says it was painted with glass stain paints, and nail polish.
24 A treasure necklace featuring butterflies from Connie Rios-Relyea who tells us that she used handpainted glass and ceramic beads, handmade beads, large link silver chain, asst silver & gold filigree beads, and of course Butterflies from B'sue. The large and medium butterflies are embellished with crystals. Finishing it off is a Heart & Bar clasp.
