Just beautiful photography... Thanks for sharing it. What is your favorite lens? Whats your favorite lens for macro? Thank you Jamie. I have different favourite lenses for different uses, the Sigma 18-200mm for a general purpose and walkabout lens and the 50mm f1.8MkII for anything in available light, but that's always in my pocket too. I don't have a macro specific lens. Boo - Jamie, Mon, 19 Sep 2005 9:30AM

Thanks for the comments and kind words. I've not been able to use the lens in a real working situation yet for various reasons, but I think I'm going to be happy with it - the versatility of having one lens covering this range is bound to prove useful. The wide open tests were responses to specific requests to see it wide angle and wide open in comparison to the kit lens - it improves noticeably, as you'd expect, as you stop it down at all - f8 just seems to be the sweet spot. Even images that look initially soft, do sharpen up well with some attention. I think, considering the range it covers for the price, it's a good buy and works as you might predict, with wide and wide being its weak spot. - Boo, Sun, 22 May 2005 12:02AM
Love your photos Boo! And this is a lens that I am considering seriously. So now that you have had it a while - are you still happy with it? I noticed that all your "test" shots were wide open or f8. How does this lens do in between? Or do you have to stop down to f8 to get a reasonably sharp photo? Yours are really nice - thanks for sharing these. - jshetley, Sat, 21 May 2005 7:19PM
