The cage on the left is on a very sturdy 2' x 4' folding utility table. It is raised up on some wooden blocks since there is a heater (that is turned off) underneathe it. The cage on the right is resting on a lightweight 2' x 4' folding table that has been secured to the top of the cage stand. The stand is used to store items. The small tablecloth hides the stand.

One side from each cage was removed and used to enclose the top and to create a platform connecting the two cages.

Two grids were bent and then secured with nylon-cable ties to create a ramp.

The ramp is secured to the platform with nylon-cable ties. The fabric tunnel is attached to the ramp grds with binder clips.

The tunnel lifts up to clean the cage or access a guinea pig. It rests on a sturdy bed to raise it a bit to lessen the angle of the ramp incline. The fabric tunnel makes it easier for hesitant guinea pigs to access the upper level and it prevents getting a leg or head stuck in the grid openings.

View of the platform area. Tunnel has supports on either end and in the middle. Both of the tunnels used to line this ramp frame have thick batting in them so they are comfortable for the guinea pigs when they walk over the grid openings. If I used a thinner tunnel I would need to put something solid down on the ramp first to make it easy to navigate the ramp and so the guinea pigs wouldn't sink down into the grid openings with each step.

Left side of cage. The hut in the center was removed since it took up too much room. A low bed was added instead. The chair provides easy access to the platform.
