Our first night in Colorado, we met Allison's best friend and roommate Kate in Boulder, where she was interning as a carpenter with the Colorado Shakespeare Festival. She was then able to join us for 2 days of hiking and camping. We then camped and hiked in Rocky Mountain National Park for several days.

16 We passed a team of 5 park staff (who looked to be in their 20's) who were building bridges like this. They had chain saws to cut down the tree, handsaws for more exact cuts, ropes for moving the log; it was a pretty impressive operation.
17 This was the day of our LONG hike. 6 lakes, 2 waterfalls, 10.9 miles, and a LOT of up and down. It was a great day though!
