1946-7 era jeep trailer, modified to dump- tailgate pivots at top. Hauled home in the back of the truck because the ball hitch is missing it's 'horseshoe' clamp.
Each fender has a small crimple, floor and headboard have been relined with steel sheet. Very good shape for it's age.
Close up of corner mod to make the dump gate.
Hitch details. Note the light shining through the holes where the horse shoe parts ought to be. Simple to repro a functional replacement.
Post holes, sheet iron floor, very good shape for a trailer this old.
Right side as nice as the left.
Original floor under the sheet metal reline. Rust flakes fall out, leaving a trail of bread crumbs.
I've read of retorations using a chunk of later pick up bed floor.
A-frame pivot, part of the dump bed mod. Very well done.
But you can see the bulging lower edge of the bed, caused by rust between the layers. Pick the rust our and hammer it flat, or do a real restorstion, later.
Dump feature in action. There is a latch, a flip lock to retain the latch, and a big bolt to screw the pieces together, making a triple redundant dump latch.
Covered Wagon bows, plywood arcs with 2x3 legs. Quickies, just to enable use as a storage trailer. No side boards, to allow access under the sides of the tarp.
"Camouflage" Cover. Heavy vinyl, re-used from a bill board. It had a giant face painted on it, which i camouflaged. Inside is pure white, very bright when rooting around for parts.
