Clone Wars Purple Diamonds Dress - Sold
This costume was sold in late 2006 to a friend.

The headpeice is now lost in the abyss somewhere :-(  If I ever locate it, I'll be happy.

I went to C3 and had a BLAST!  I wore this costume in the contest (even though I didn't win) and had a lot of fun.  Unfortunately my headpiece fell apart the day before we left for C3 and I had to improvise VERY quickly.  I will be remaking the headpiece and the train (once again LOL).  I think I'm going to either make the petals larger, or make them ruffles instead.  I'm not too sure at the moment.  I have a long time to go before C4 and I can think about until then.  I got a lot of great comments on it, even though my hair was falling out by contest time :(  I can't wait to finish it for good (HA, yeah right LOL).  Thanks to Cassandra and lija from TFN for the pictures of my dress.  I had left my camera in the hotel room (dead batteries) and was unable to take pictures.

A train full of petals!

As much work as this was, I'm redoing it.  I'm not happy with the 'pink' color, they have to be light blue and purple, I've reordered chiffon in the correct colors.

Here's the new back of the dress.  I think it looks better with the blue ones in there now.

The alsmost finished front.  I need to make the tassle and sleeves, then it's on to the headpeice.

The hair for the costume - this will be the 'fun' part.

This has been started :-)  Wish me luck lol.

The finished corset on me :-)  Weee it fits perfectly.

The finished corset.  This thing drove me nuts trying to make sure the diamonds in the quilting aligned properly.  I'm not wuite happy with the way the back looks, I'll fix that before C3.  This picture makes the silk look REALLY shiny :-(

At the corner of each diamond I added a purple seed bead and iridescent sequin.  It adds a neat little touch without being overdone :-)  This is more what the fabric looks like, not so shiny.

The Finished skirt.  There will be a crinoline under this when I wear it to keep the shape :-)

The template for the decoration on the bodice.  This will also be detachable.  I'll have finished pics up soon.

The fabric cut out.  I'll sew the two layers together and put the template inside to keep the shape.

I've scrapped this idea and made it out of sculpy instead.  I think it looks better now.

The finished brooch for the corset :-D  It was made from sculpy and painted to coordinate with the fabrics.
Grrr, color matching is hard.  The background looks blue, but's more purple-ly, there's an opalecent layer on top that changes color as you move - hence the blue look in the picture.

The back of the brooch.  I didn't want snaps to ruin the front of the corset and couldn't think of how to attach it... so I used bobby pins baked half way into the sculpy!  It slips right over the top of the corset and sits very snug without permanently damaging it :-)

I shrink-wrapped the table to protect it from the puffy paint LOL

This is the petticoat for under the skirt to fill it out :-)  I ordered it from www.bridalpetticoats.com  they have free shipping.

I photoshopped the color in, but these are what I want for shoes.  I'll embroider on beads and sequins to match the dress :-)

The beginning of a great matching shoe :-D

4 1/2 hours later we have ONE shoe finished LOL  It was a labor of love, but it looks great!  I took some extra light purple silk and fit it directly to the shoe, the I hand beaded the edge and added the crystal.  They fit wonderfully :-)

The completed shoes :-)  They're so pretty and they match exactly :-D

The other shoe only took my 1 1/2 hours this time, much better :-)

The shoes with the skirt, a perfect match :-)

Ignore the look on my face LOL  It was the best picture I had of the front.  The petticoat poofs it up too much near the top, I'll have to take care of that later.

Here's the back of the dress.  The corset wasn't cinched all the way.  Pippin liked going under and playing with the crinoline LOL

This was before I finished the quilting on the diamonds.  I wanted to see if it was working right.  Looks good to me :-D
